Australian coaches facilitate Netfit Netball Programme

THE Netfit Netball Programme organised by the Brunei Darussalam Netball Association (BNA) started yesterday and will continue until March 10 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

The programme is facilitated by coaches from Melbourne, Australia – Sarah Well, Sarah Mylrea and Jane Searie.

The ‘Programme for School’ starts today where students from International School Brunei and Jerudong International School will participate in the morning session, while students from Chung Hwa Middle School and Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School attend the afternoon session.

The next ‘Programme for School’ will be held on March 8. Participating students will be from Pulaie Primary School, Anggerek Desa Primary School, Delima Satu Primary School and Dato Marsal Primary School for the morning session. The afternoon session will host students from Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, Sports School, Raja Isteri Girls High School (STPRI) and Sultan Muhammad Jamalalul Alam (SMJA) Secondary School.

In preparation for the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines, coach Jane Searie will also hold a training session with the national pool from tomorrow until March 8.

The under-21 netball team started their training session yesterday afternoon and will continue until March 9, in preparation for the Asian Netball Youth Championship in Japan. They will face the national netball team on March 9 at 7.30pm at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.

On March 10, a Netball Workshop will be held at the same venue from 8am to 12pm. It is open for netball enthusiasts including the national team, the under-21 team and BNA committee members.
