This year’s programme has been held physically four times before the Sultanate was hit by the second wave of COVID-19.

To continue the programme, it has since been arranged remotely with athletes performing the activities at their homes to maintain their maximum fitness level.

The first online fitness programme was held on October 24.

The programme aims to prepare national and intermediate athletes to be constantly ready to participate in future competitions, possess high level of fitness at all times and encourage active involvement among the Youth and Sports Department scheme community.

It also instils a spirit of cooperation and foster closer ties among athletes, coaches and management from different disciplines, while stimulating athletes’ mindset to remain active, productive, innovative and motivated.

The programme will be conducted for nine sessions until December 2021. The next programme is scheduled on November 21 and will be conducted by national swim coach Wu Na.

Acting Director of Youth and Sports Mariam binti Ulat and Acting Head of Sports Section Noorfaizah binti Haji Suboh also participated.
