A Doa Kesyukuran and certificate presentation ceremony was held to commemorate a series of milestones and achievements made by the Mukim Penghulu, Village Heads and Longhouse Chiefs Association (PEKERUPA) in the Belait District, as well as the tug-of-war team KB Bull Brothers at the Panaga Lagoon yesterday.
Head of Kampong Panaga ‘C’ and chairman of the ceremony Khairul Abidin bin Md Yassin said, “First, we are celebrating the success of the performance organised by PEKERUPA at Tudong Saji on August 26 in conjunction with the 78th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.”
Another achievement was the KB Bull Brothers winning a special tug-of-war competition at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on August 4.
“The latest win marks the third win in a row for KB Bull Brothers, which was made possible by the inspiring youth and guidance from the team’s veteran members,” he added.
Legislative Council member and Mukim Bukit Sawat penghulu Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman presented certificates of appreciation to PEKERUPA members, as well as special awards and certificates to the KB Bull Brothers members. – Daniel Lim
