Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam will elect new office bearer during an annual general meeting (AGM) set to take place later this year.
This was announced by Association President Jackson Ting during last year’s AGM that was postponed to April 21.
He urged members to prepare for the election and he looked forward to new leadership bringing the association to new heights.
Ting said last year’s AGM was originally scheduled on October 28, 2022 but it had to be postponed due to incomplete financial report. The rescheduled AGM was held last Friday after the financial report was finalised in early April.
The association president recapped major achievements and celebrations last year including the 10th anniversary of the group in December 2022.
He advised members to cooperate and strengthen business ties as well as friendship. He added that the association is a business platform, in industrial and commercial fields, to promote the interests of members and support the government’s aspirations.
Members were briefed on the association’s finances by Secretary General Luke Lau where it was disclosed that there was a surplus of BND34,605 as of June 30, 2022.
