Assistant State Mufti (Buhuth) Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof left for Cairo, Egypt yesterday to attend an international conference organised by the World Secretariat General of Fatwa Enforcement as the representative of State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
The conference will focus on the relations between Fatwa and sustainable development while briefing religious leaders on the role in climate protection.
In addition, the event will stress on the role of Fatwa in poverty eradication agenda of the conference.
Accompanying the assistant state mufti (Buhuth) was Senior Buhuth Officer at the State Mufti’s Office Pengiran Haji Zamiri bin Pengiran Haji Jamaludin. The two-day conference carries the theme, ‘Fatwa and Sustainable Development Aspiration’, and will begin tomorrow at Al-Masa
Hotel, Cairo. It will also be attended by the United Nations, the World Health Organization (WHO), religious leaders, ministers and Islamic scholars from over 90 countries.
