The Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC), supported by Youth and Sports Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) is organising the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou Fun Run at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on March 12.
The event is open to the public and is divided into five categories:
– Category 1: Male open;
– Category 2: Female open;
– Category 3: Boys 12 years and below;
– Category 4: Girls 12 years and below; and
– Category 5: People with disability.
The drop-off point/location is at the parking lot, Department of Electrical Services (opposite to the PGGMB building).
Participants are advised to arrive at 6.15am. Working committee staff members will assist and guide participants to the venue.
Registration can be done on the sixth floor of the Youth and Sports Department, Sports Section, MCYS building. Registration is open from tomorrow until March 9 from 8am to 11.30am and 2pm to 4pm. Registered participants will receive a free Asian Games Fun Run Commemorative T-shirt which can be collected on March 11 on the sixth floor of the Youth and Sports Department, Sports Section, MCYS building.
A certificate will be given at the finish line of the fun run.
Top 10 finishers in each category will receive a medal presented by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of BDNOC.
Representatives from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 will also attend.
The 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
With seven months remaining, the OCA has been promoting the multi-sport event via fun runs in all five zones.
February and March have been scheduled for Southeast Asian countries including Brunei.
The event aims to invest in the younger generation of Asian countries to improve society and sports in the region, foster awareness, encourage participation in sporting and cultural activities, and to foster unity.
