Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab chaired the Special Senior Officials Meeting of the 41st Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (SSOM-41st AMAF) and Related Meeting yesterday.
The meeting was conducted via video conference.
Hajah Tutiaty welcomed the SSOM AMAF leaders of agriculture and forestry as well as the ASEAN Secretariat for attending the SSOM-41st AMAF. She congratulated the enormous contribution, hard work and commitment by sectoral working groups, joint committee as well as Expert Working Groups on the implementation of the projects under SSOM-AMAF covering a diverse range of sectors, among others including food security, information and technology exchange, research and development, human resources development and agriculture and forestry related industries.
According to the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), the meeting expressed satisfaction on the progress made in the implementation of strategic plan of food, agriculture and forestry (SP-FAF) 2016-2025 including the achievement of key deliverables in 2020. The meeting also agreed on the proposed key indicative deliverables for 2021 FAF sector. The meeting noted the progress made by key sectoral cooperation activities related to food, crops, livestock, fisheries and forestry in 2020.
On the same day as the SSOM-41st AMAF, the Special Senior Officials Meeting of the 19th meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (SSOM-19th AMAF+3) and the 5th ASEAN Russian Federation Senior Officials meetings on Agriculture (5th ARSOMA) were also conducted via video conference.
Senior officers from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Department of Fisheries and Forestry Department were also present.
