ANN/THE STAR – Another piece of debris believed to be from China’s Long March rocket has been found in Miri’s Batu Niah area yesterday.
Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Department Chief Rary Binjie said the 30 centimetres fragment of the rocket was found 100 metres from the Ngadan Longhouse in Sungai Kurong Suai.
The department received a call from a member of the public about the object at about 2.20pm.
“Nine firemen in two engines rushed to the scene and found the grey fragment,” he said.
Rary added that residents in the area had been advised not to go near the object, which was still at the site pending instructions from the authorities.
On August 1, two objects suspected to be debris from China’s rocket were also found near Batu Niah.
