Another feather in the cap

Baiduri Bank ended the year on a high note with the Best Banking Group award from World Finance magazine. The achievement marks the third international banking award this year for Baiduri Bank and is the 12th time that the bank has received this accolade.

According to World Finance, Baiduri Bank Group was recognised for its significant gains in retail banking, its technological capabilities and innovations, strong growth metrics and its ongoing commitment to improving economic diversification.

Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank Ti Eng Hui said, “This is a remarkable achievement for Baiduri Bank. To receive this recognition from World Finance for 12 consecutive years is a testament to our consistent performance, strong balance sheet, prudent risk management practices and proven business model.

“2020 has been a challenging year. To thrive during the COVID-19 pandemic requires tremendous resilience and agility. In response to surging needs for digital interactions, we enhanced our digital banking platforms and intensified consumer education to encourage digital adoption in line with social distancing guidelines. At the same time, we also embarked on various initiatives to provide better customer experience and to position ourselves for sustainable growth.”

On the context of providing a better customer experience, Baiduri Bank also underwent a brand refresh exercise to better reflect the bank’s standing today and its outward looking philosophy.

He said, “Along with this brand refresh comes our commitment to enrich, engage and empower the communities we serve, leading the way as the preferred financial partner for individuals and businesses alike.”

He said, “While we accelerate our digital initiatives, we strongly believe in prioritising human touch in all that we do – after all, being an empowering financial partner is about building connections and long-term relationships that will creative positive impact. Our people are the ones who will make a difference, and they are our greatest asset. Therefore, we have also invested heavily in developing and supporting our employees, so they can be better equipped to deliver their best.

Earlier this year, Baiduri Bank received two other international awards – the Domestic Retail Bank of the Year from the Asian Banking & Finance magazine and Best Bank in Asia-Pacific from Global Finance.
