Over 60 former hostel residents of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College, from the 1960-1978 intake, attended a Dikir Maulidur Rasul at Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen Mosque in Kampong Mulaut on Monday, in conjunction with the birth anniversary celebration of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1446 Hijrah.
The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the event coordinator Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Lahap, followed by the handing over of khairat donations to the family representatives of two recently deceased group members.
The Organising Committee’s advisor Dato Paduka Seri Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Johan presented waqaf to mosque imam Hamdi bin Haji Ibrahim.
The event also saw the recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam, followed by the recitation of Doa Dikir and Doa Selamat, led by the imam.
This event is held annually as one of the group’s religious activities. – Azlan Othman
