Almerez FC returned to winning ways in the Brunei Futsal League 2021 after a trouble-free 8-2 victory over Kota Ranger at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Monday.

Mohd Radhi bin Raduan, Muhammad Fithratul Rahman bin Ratano and Md Aiman bin Haji Md Amin capped a solid team performance with a brace each in the Group ‘A’ clash.

The trio was joined by Awangku Md Amirul Haziq bin Pengiran Kamshulzaman and Haji Mohammad Zainol Ariffin bin Hassan on the score-sheet.

Kota Ranger goals came from Md Hardyman bin Haji Abdul Lamit and Abdul Badri Izdihar bin Haji Abdul Lamit.

Almerez FC manager Pengiran Haji Kamarunsalehin bin Pengiran Haji Kamis told the Bulletin, “It was a difficult game to go into, having lost our previous match; it was a huge blow to our morale.”

He continued, “But, we slowly picked up the pieces and prepared extensively for tonight’s game against Kota Ranger FC who have been on a good run winning their last two games. I’m glad the boys played well and the squad got the important three points.”

Kota Ranger had looked to extend their unbeaten run following victories against BIBD SRC and GG FT in their opening two matches.

Meanwhile, MS ABDB continued their good form in Group ‘B’ after a 4-2 victory over PES in a later kick-off.

Awangku Md Jumatatul Aleshahrezan bin Pengiran Metali put the army personnel in front on the fifth minute but PES hit back and took the lead through a quick-fire double by Ahmad Muhazzib Haririe bin Haji Md Daud.

Md Zairul Hazmin bin Abdul Saifuddin levelled the scores in the 19th minute before Abdul Malik bin Yunus regained his team’s lead in the 35th minute.

The Group ‘B’ leaders ensured victory after Md Zairul Hazmin scored the second and his team’s fourth of the game three minutes from time.

The competition resumes on Friday with BIBD SRC looking to make it three wins on the bounce against struggling Silveredz FT while GG FT take on Qahar FT in the later kick-off.
