The Intermediate Court yesterday adjourned the case of an Assistant Superintendent of Customs on charges of Criminal Breach of Trust.
Defence counsel Wafa Mohamad of Messrs Ridzlan and Co sought for the prosecution to furnish all documents and time to go through the ones that have been provided recently, in the case alleging 50-year-old ASC Suyati binti Haji Ahmad Besar of the three charges of criminal breach of trust by a public servant. Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni fixed March 29 for further mention of the case.
Prosecutor Shamshuddin Haji Kamaluddin’s charges drafted based on the Anti-Corruption Bureau investigations allege ASC Suyati, that while she was attached to the Finance Unit of the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) as the head of finance, had misappropriated BND982,349.12 in cash, payments of overtime, mileage and shift allowance claims made by the RCED officers.
