An attempt to smuggle over 150 bottles of alcohol was foiled by a joint patrol from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces around Kampong Junjongan on Friday.
The RBPF said the patrol encountered a suspicious vehicle driving around the area and gave chase to investigate.
The vehicle crashed into a ditch, and the driver and passenger were detained. The suspects were locals aged 36 to 37.
An inspection of the vehicle uncovered three huge boxes containing 156 bottles of alcohol.
The case was turned over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
