The first of the two-day National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults Hijrah 1442 semi-final began at the Melor Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday.
A total of 23 participants competed yesterday. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the semi-final was broadcast live through MoRA’s official Instagram at @kheu.brunei by Secretariat of the competition this year.
The remaining 18 participants will compete today from 8am to noon, and 1.30pm to 4pm.
The winners in the semi-final will be announced tomorrow at the Multaqa Hall of MoRA. It is hoped that the musabaqah can help further develop more experts in the field of Al-Quran reading and to see Al-Quran literate among the community as a platform to strengthen ties to Allah the Almighty.
It also aims to encourage Qari and Qariah to improve their reading of Al-Quran and to gain public interest in learning the proper techniques of Al-Quran reading.
The two-day semi final is part of MoRA’s annual project.
