Nur Rahmah’s dawn Al-Quran readers group from Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri glorified the start of the year with Khatam Al-Quran yesterday morning.
The mosque’s Imam Haji Shamsul bin Haji Abdul Latif led the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah while the recitation of Surah-Surah Lazim was headed by the pioneer of virtual Al-Quran reading and the founder of Al-Quran reading at dawn at the mosque Haji Annuar bin Penghulu Haji Ibrahim who also read Takhtim.
It ended with the recitation of Doa Khatam and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by the Imam.
The reading is conducted after the Subuh prayer physically and joined virtually by Al-Quran readers from various villages.
The gathering is to gain blessings and show gratefulness after completing Al-Quran reading from early this month.
The event is also to strengthen closer ties and to gain rewards from Allah the Almighty.
At the ceremony, Haji Annuar also received a souvenir presented by Haji Shamsul.
