Al-Quran competition instils religious spirit

Students from Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Wakeel Mosque in Kampong Kiudang, Tutong District and students from Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque in the Belait district clinched the top spot in male and female category respectively at the competition for Al-Quran reading in Muratal manner.

The competition was held on Saturday in conjunction with the 37th National Day celebration, organised by the Mosque Affairs Department to instil the religious spirit among children attending Al-Quran and Muqaddam classes across the country. It encourages children to recite Al-Quran properly and make it a daily practice as part of ongoing efforts to create an Al-Quran literate society.

Some 18 teams competed in both male and female categories.
