AL Idrus SC kept hopes alive of an all-Al Idrus final in the Al Idrus FA Cup after a 2-1 victory over Terazza FC at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club Football Field recently.

Adie bin Awang opened the scoring in the fourth minute but Haji Sahari bin Haji Tahir levelled the scores in the 25th minute. Adie struck again two minutes before the hour mark for the winner.

Al Idrus FT remained the favourites in lifting the title after knocking PSJD, one of the contenders, out of the tournament.

Their prospects were further enhanced with dark horse AH United crashing out of the tournament after falling to a 1-0 loss to RB Veteran. Md Zaiddie bin Abdul Rahman’s goal separated both sides.

Before both Al Idrus teams can set their sights on a possible final, Al Idrus FT have to navigate their way past TJ FT in the quarterfinals while Al Idrus SC will meet ITF in the other last-eight tie.

Meanwhile, in the Al Idrus Football League Championship, Riwayat continued their goal-scoring exploits with a 9-0 dismantling of Paguma FT in the last-16 with their leading scorer Azamain Haji Masri grabbing four goals.

The free-scoring Riwayat will now face the winner of title contenders PSJD and PMS, who play against each other tomorrow for a place in the last four.
