Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC) held its flagship Social Investment Initiative and the 11th instalment of Project Amali yesterday.
The contingent, led by Managing Director Captain Abdul Mateen Abdurrahman Liew, visited five needy families in the surrounding area of Kampong Merangking and Kampong Bukit Sawat to provide necessities ahead of the fasting month.
The families were identified as part of an ongoing collaborative effort between BGC and the village heads to provide support to those in need, with some of the necessities handed including essential food and household supplies, such as rice, eggs, cooking oil, canned goods and cleaning supplies.
Captain Abdul Mateen expressed his gratitude on behalf of BGC and its employees, noting that, “We are honoured to extend our support to these families, especially with the holy month of Ramadhan approaching.”
The visit also serves as a meaningful experience for BGC volunteers, providing them with firsthand insight into the challenges faced by these families and reinforcing the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. – Daniel Lim
