Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Micronet International College (MIC) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to entail the UTB-Satellite Partners (SP) Bridging Programme, a bridging course in computing (BriCOMP) offered by MIC at a signing ceremony at the Function Room of the MIC College Jerudong Campus.
Signing on behalf of UTB was Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, while Micronet International College was represented by Managing Director Sylvester Yong.
The signing was witnessed by UTB Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Dr Hajah Noor Maya binti Haji Md Salleh and MIC General Manager Sharon Chin.
Under this agreement, MIC offers a 14-week Undergraduate Degree Entry Pathway to post ‘A’ Level students who fall short of the minimum points for admission to Computing Undergraduate Degree programmes at UTB, namely BSc (Hons) in Digital Media, BSc (Hons) in Creative Multimedia, BSc (Hons) in Computing (Major in Software Development), BSc (Hons) in Computing (Major in Data Analytics), BSc (Hons) in Computer and Information Security and BSc (Hons) in Computer Networking.
Upon completion of the bridging programme in computing, the students will join UTB in the first year chosen Undergraduate Degree Programme.
Following the signing ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of UTB presented certificates to eight BriCOMP students who completed the 14-week programme.
MIC launched the first intake for the UTB BriCOMP programme during the April intake, and the eight students have already received admission into the first year Undergraduate Degree Programme at UTB. The next intake for the BriCOMP programme will commence in April 2021.
