University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) is set to co-organised the 2023 International Islamic Belief and Thought Seminar (SAPIA 2023) with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNISZA).
Themed ‘Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Belief Preserves Community Unity’, the seminar will talk about modern issues related to Usuluddin and Islamic thought from the perspective of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, which is a strong pillar for Muslims in the region and the Islamic world as a whole. The goal is to build a network of academics from around the world.
Among the issues under the limelight are the importance of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah’s belief in dealing with Islamophobia and the implementation of Usuluddin’s knowledge in the development and life of contemporary society.
Representing UNISSA is its Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal who will present a paper titled ‘Strategy for Strengthening the belief of Ahli Sunnah wal Jama’ah in Maintaining Unity in Brunei Darussalam’.
Selangor State Mufti Dato’ Setia Associate Professor Dr Haji Anhar bin Haji Opir will join Melaka State Mufti Datuk Wira Haji Abdul Halim bin Tawil as a keynote speaker.
