A treat for all musical lovers

The public witnessed an exhilarating opening night of special musical The InfluencHER by Relentless Entertainment at Jerudong International School Arts Centre yesterday.

Inspired by the book and movie Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, The InfluencHER was performed by 30 cast members from Relentless Entertainment and Academy of Performing Arts after months of preparation.

The show centres around Aisha Ali played by Khalisa Mutalib – an aspiring social media influencer as she navigates love, career and her true love, shopping. With an eye for fashion and a passion for spending, will Aisha be able to keep up with her fabulous lifestyle or will her bills catch up to her?

It features popular songs including Ariana Grande’s Break Free, Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, Jessie J’s Domino and Elton John’s I’m Still Standing.

The InfluencHER is organised by Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), in collaboration with Relentless Entertainment and Academy of Performing Arts, in conjunction with National Savings Day 2023. It is a musical production promising to entertain and educate on financial literacy through song and dance.

National Savings Day (NSD) is celebrated every May 28 and in the ninth year since its inauguration in 2015. NSD’s main objective is to promote a savings culture and prudent money management, enhance financial literacy in Brunei and increase awareness on financial products and services available in the country.

The InfluencHER is staged today, tomorrow and August 11, 12 and 13 comprising eight musical shows. The opening was yesterday.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity. – James Kon
