The Bangladesh Festival of Food and Culture was officially launched at Tasek Brasserie, Radisson Hotel yesterday.
The festival, organised by the High Commission of Bangladesh in Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with Radisson Hotel Brunei and Brunei Food Awards will be held from 6.30pm to 10pm, until December 7. A selection of Bangladeshi cuisine and menus will be served throughout the event.
Attorney General Dato Seri Paduka Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa and spouse along with Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona launched the festival.
The attorney general and spouse also presented prizes to the top three winners of the Street Food Festival, held prior to the event during Bandarku Ceria.
De’Green Sylhet Restaurant and Catering won for their beef biryani, Mita and Mehedi Restaurant won second place with their mishti dish while third place runner-ups went to Santinur Restaurant for their katla fish curry and Baisakhi Restaurant for their shorisha eli dish.
Also present at the launch were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
