Izzat was crowned champion of Bintang Search Season 3 during it’s grand finale that premiered on OOPs! yesterday.
Izzat’s journey to the top was not easy. He was eliminated from the competition eight weeks ago only to be “called back” by judge Dayat. According to Dayat, “Izzat has many characteristics of a champion both in terms of voice, stage presence and public likeability”.
The “call back” meant Izzat had a second chance and valiantly performed through the season. Izzat is the only wildcard who performed at the finals.
As hosts Fatin Feisal and Ian Zukifli announced the win, Izzat was speechless and visibly excited.
The champion title is decided by 50 per cent votes and 50 per cent judges’ marks.
At the grand finale, all finalists performed songs highlighting them as artistes.
Izzat performed Casablanca by Nuha Bahrin and Naufal Azrin for his solo performance and sang Purnama by Naim Daniel with judge Dayat.
Rofini performed I Want You Around by Snoh Aalegra while Celeste sang Sarah Geronimo’s Forever’s Not Enough. Jasrin gave a rendition of Judika’s Bukan Dia Tapi Aku while Hafiz performed Faizal Tahir’s Sampai Syurga.
The finale also saw performance from Season 2 contestants Fizzon, Jabby and Qasrina.
Imagine Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Suzannawati binti Haji Suharju presented the awards to the champion while Bintang Search showrunner Siti Kamaluddin presented the awards to the other finalists.
Siti Kamaluddin said she is proud of the finalists. “They are all different in their own way and I cannot wait to hear their music and witness their journey in the Bruneian music industry,” she said.
