The launching of the Takaful Brunei Mobile application marks a significant milestone and demonstrates its commitment and strategic progress in supporting Brunei Vision 2035 and the Digital Economy Masterplan, Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd’s (Takaful Brunei) Managing Director Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya said.

“Hopefully our contribution partly helps with the vision to transform Brunei into a Smart Nation as we journey together into the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” he said at the launch of the Takaful Brunei Mobile application yesterday.

Haji Shahrildin said one of Takaful Brunei’s pillars is to serve the customers the best possible way while they take pride in delivering services to their customers and continuously review areas needing enhancement to serve the customers better.

He said with the mission to provide Takaful protection in accordance with the principles of Islamic Finance, Takaful Brunei has expanded its traditional branches and counter presence throughout the country over the years since its establishment in 1994.

These include expanding the Call Centre to include WhatsApp services and SMS payment link for immediate transaction with free home delivery. The Takaful Brunei Mobile application is the latest distribution channel made available to the public.

Achievements wise, the Managing Director noted that the Takaful Brunei Mobile initiative has been recognised by Insurance Asia, a publication company of the Charlton Media Group and has won an award for Digital Insurance Initiative of the Year in 2020.

Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager, Sales and Distribution Channel Division Mohd Suffian bin Haji Mohd Salleh, in an interview pointed out that Takaful Brunei has been receiving awards for the last three years as the best Takaful company in Brunei.

The latest award was for being the first Takaful in Brunei to have a digital platform, especially on the Takaful Mobile app and the TBA Call Centre online payment.

Other offers in the pipeline include additional features such as a loyalty programme which will be introduced in the near future as well as additional upgrades as they experience more transactions and receive customer feedback.

“Our customers will be able to enjoy benefits such as collecting points. These points can also be transferred to their families or friends to enable them to enjoy the benefits such as more discounts on their purchase,” Mohd Suffian said.
