Adding to the excitement, selected Taycan models now feature a new “Push to Pass” function, part of the Sport Chrono package. With a larger battery pack, the new Taycan boasts an impressive range of 678 kilometres (WLTP), meaning it can easily travel from Temburong to Miri and back on a single charge. The enhanced Taycan also recharges faster, with charging speeds of up to 320kW, making long-distance drives more convenient and efficient.
Stealing the show at the launch, however, was the unveiling of the most iconic and exclusive Porsche Taycan ever produced-the one-of-a-kind Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade.
Created under the Sonderwunsch programme, this masterpiece is a tribute to the vibrancy and innovation of Southeast Asia. Designed in collaboration with Porsche Asia Pacific, the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur team crafted this unique Taycan with bespoke touches, inspired by mythical symbols and the region’s rich culture.
The Celestial Jade’s headrests and key elements feature motifs of the legendary Longma, or Dragon Horse-a mythical creature symbolising strength, nobility, and good fortune.
This rare vehicle’s name is inspired by the precious gemstone jade, and its stunning finish was created by combining two Chromoflair effect paints, meticulously applied by hand. The result mimics the natural colour fading of jade, a process that occurs over thousands of years under immense pressure and temperature changes deep within the Earth’s crust.
The real marvel lies in the world-first Chromoflair blend, a pioneering feat by Porsche. The paintwork, which took around a year to develop and 80 hours to apply by hand, uses Chromoflair pigments with ultra-thin flakes that seem to shift in colour.
These extraordinary flakes consist of a reflective aluminium core, enveloped by a glass-like layer, creating an ethereal, ever-changing effect that mesmerises from every angle.
With the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, Porsche has once again pushed the boundaries of automotive artistry, offering a glimpse into the future of bespoke, high-performance luxury.
PORSCHE WORLD FIRST
Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Individualisation and Classic at Porsche AG, expressed his excitement at the launch, saying, “A vibrant region like Southeast Asia deserves nothing less than our most ambitious Taycan project yet.
“That’s why the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade boasts several Porsche world firsts, alongside colours and motifs that pay homage to Asian culture.”
Deliveries of the new Taycan models are expected to begin by the end of the year, marking an exciting new chapter for electric performance.
Meanwhile, the exclusive Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade will be available for a special viewing at Porsche Studio Singapore before embarking on a Southeast Asia tour, with stops in Malaysia and Thailand, offering car enthusiasts a rare chance to witness this extraordinary creation up close.
