A month of fun-filled events, activities

Over 70 events and activities have been lined up for the Brunei December Festival (BDF) across all four districts, ranging from food festivals to Islamic, cultural and creative arts festivals to shopping and exploration events.

Some of the highlights are Shitoryu Karate Carnival, The Garden Rhapsodies’ art exhibition and Winter Wonders at Jerudong Park.

Jerudong Park currently has a booth on the first floor of Citis Square to promote its events and packages during the holidays.

Winter Wonders will run December 23 – January 3, 2021 and the karate carnival will be held today featuring martial art demonstrations.

Jerudong Park’s waterpark is the most popular attraction among visitors while Animals in the Park lured 7,000 visitors in November alone. The amusement park is expecting a surge in visitors this month. As for rides, Scary Drop and Junior Coaster are the most popular.

However, certain rides are not open to the public due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Yanti manning the Indonesian Nationals Association in Brunei Darussalam booth on the second floor of Times Hotel said the group’s half-day participation yesterday showcased Indonesian delicacies from several provinces and apparels including batik shirts and handicrafts.

Pucok Ubi (tapioca shoots) and Jantung Pisang (banana flower) were popular, she said.

Meanwhile, freelance photographer and videographer Safwan Sidek is showcasing photographs of Brunei Darussalam until Sunday on the first floor of Citis Square.

Safwan, who started having interest in photography since four years ago, is selling his works which are also available is postcard form.
