ANN/THE STAR – Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was honoured to host a visit from renowned Indian superstar Rajnikanth at his office in Putrajaya.
Taking to Facebook on September 11, Anwar expressed his delight at meeting the globally acclaimed actor, who enjoys immense popularity not only in Asia but across the world.
“I am honoured by the appreciation given to my mission to address the suffering and hardship faced by the people.
“Among the matters discussed were social issues I am fighting for, which could be included in his films,” he said in the social media posts which garnered tens of thousands of likes on Instagram alone.
The prime minister also said he was praying for Rajnikanth’s continued excellence in his field and films.
In the comments section, many were excited by the post, with references made to Rajnikanth’s blockbuster film Sivaji: The Boss and others saying it was the “meeting of two legends”.
The actor is famous for his catchy punchlines as well as signature moves.
Anwar is also known to quote lines from Rajnikanth’s films, especially Sivaji: The Boss during his campaign rallies. – Fazleena Aziz
