Forty-two cub scouts, accompanied by eight leaders from Chung Hwa School Tutong, visited the Tropical Biodiversity Centre under the Forestry Department in Sungai Liang last Saturday.
Chief Leader of the 2030 Scouts Troop of Chung Hwa School Akela Hung Chin Chin led the visit themed ‘Margastua Di Hutan Rimba’, with the group divided into two – Punai and Terkukur.
The group was welcomed by Senior Forestry Officer Nor Hanney Aleesa binti Ramdan as the representative of the centre who briefed them ion the activities carried out at the centre before giving them an educational tour.
The cub scouts learnt about biodiversity, as part of the visit’s objectives to learn about tropical forests in the country, know the types of forest and identify indigenous plants and the endangered species.
