About 30 orphans from the Panchor Mengkubau National Housing Scheme were treated to a fun-filled activity at the Tasek Tang Salangan in Kampong Tungku on Tuesday.
Chief Commissioner of Scouts Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali was the guest of honour.
The two hour event, organised by the Brunei-Muara District Scouts Association (PPDBM), saw orphans taking part in recreational activities such as Kayaking, turtle boat, scouts games and a visit to the Tang Salangan Farm.
PPDBM said the activity provided exposure on the importance of caring for the environment. It is also part of the PPDBM Community Campaign.
Legislative Council Member Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari, Village Head of Kampong Tungku/Katok Haji Ismail bin Haji Rajab, Chairperson of the Scouts Association Brunei-Muara Council, Haji Jailani bin Haji Ibrahim, Treasurer of Tungku Katok Village Council, Haji Salleh bin Mahmud and Commissioner of PPDBM, Pengiran Haji Sufri bin Pengiran Haji Hashim were also present.
