94 students feted at Khatam Al-Quran ceremony

LAMBAK Kanan Religious School held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for 94 students – 58 male and 36 female – to celebrate their completion for the recitation of 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran at the school’s multipurpose hall.

Deputy Director (Corporate Services) of the Islamic Studies Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Rusli bin Haji Md Salleh was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour followed by the verses of Al-Quran from Surah Adh-Dhuha until Surah An-Nas by the Khatam participants.

It continued with the recitation of Takhtim and Doa Khatam.

The event then saw a mass recitation of Dikir Marhaban followed with the sprinkling of scented oil on the Khatam participants.

The guest of honour presented certificates to the Khatam participants.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.

The objectives of the ceremony were to encourage students to value and appreciate Al-Quran and to continue in giving inspiration and encouragement in an effort to seek blessings from Allah the Almighty.

The event also hoped to inspire other students to continue learning and enhancing their reading quality of Al-Quran verses as well as to generate a generation that is Al-Quran literate.
