PENGIRAN Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School (SMPAPHM) celebrated 84 students in an Academic Awards Presentation for BC-GCE O ‘Level, IGCSE and BTEC 2018 at the multipurpose hall of the school, yesterday.
Guest of honour, Head of Programme and Academic Division, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education Sarimah binti Abu Bakar presented the awards and certificates to students.
Principal of SMPAPHM Hajah Norwen binti Haji Brahim congratulated all the successful students who have obtained good results in the examination and completing the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Programme.
In her welcoming remarks, she shared that 52.59 per cent of students obtained five credits and above compared to the previous year’s 50.24 per cent, an increase of 2.35 per cent.
“Insya Allah, this year, we will continue to strive to improve the achievement,” she added.
The principal pointed out that from a study carried out with Year 11 students, two programmes helped students to improve – Burning Midnite Oil (BMO) programme and extra classes. She advised all students who will be sitting for this year’s examination to attend their extra classes and BMO as well as motivational and intervention programmes organised by the school.
The event also saw the presentation of the Outstanding Student Awards to 11 students, the Achievement Awards (Grade A*) in Islamic Religious Knowledge (IRK), Art and Design, Geography, Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, and Chemistry to 10 students and awards to three students who passed and obtained splendid results in Pearson BTEC Level 2 Programme in IT.
