Captain (Rtd) Haji Osman bin Lahab was the first participant to cross the finish line in the Walk to Beat Cancer (2.5km) at Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre’s World Cancer Day Weekend 2023 yesterday.
The veteran athlete, who is over 80-years-old, first started running after he joined the army some 60 years ago.
Despite a pacemaker surgically implanted around two months ago, Captain (Rtd) Haji Osman did not slow down in his passion to compete and run.
He said he will head to Thailand to compete in several events.
He requested the public to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
