As of April 7, under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme for children aged five to 11, a total of 3,667 or 8.5 per cent of children have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said this during the daily press conference yesterday.

He said on Thursday alone, some 1,002 doses of the vaccine were administered to the children in the age group.

Parents or guardians can get their children vaccinated at vaccination centres by booking a slot through the BruHealth app.

The public is advised to create and complete the authentication process for their children’s accounts in the BruHealth app in preparation for the vaccination.

Meanwhile, the coverage rate for those who have received three doses was 62.1 per cent of the population.

Meanwhile, during Ramadhan, vaccination centre services nationwide will be from 8.30am to 1pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and closed on Friday, Sunday and public holidays.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin also attended the press conference.
