Personnel from the Bangar Police Station who recently seized 626 packets of frozen meat items, detained a 25-year-old local man for suspected smuggling.

Patrol officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of the boat landing area in Kampong Buda-Buda on Saturday, said Acting Commanding Officer of Temburong Police District DSP Haji Irham bin Haji Muhd Arahad.

A search of the vehicle found that it was carrying 576 packets of Ayamas chicken frankfurters and 50 packets of Ramly beef burger patties.

The suspect, along with the contraband items and vehicle, were brought to the Bangar Police Station, before being handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) for further investigations.

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) urged the public to report criminal activities through hotline 993, or at the nearest police station, or by emailing the RBPF website at www.police.gov.bn.
