SINGAPORE (CNA) – Singapore reported 5,996 new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Tuesday, comprising 5,578 local and 418 imported infections.
The case count is almost double Monday’s figure.
It includes the number of Protocol 2 cases – those who are well or assessed to have a mild condition – after the Ministry of Health (MOH) changed its daily reporting structure last Friday.
There were two fatalities, according to the latest infection statistics on the MOH website. This takes the death toll from coronavirus complications to 850.
The weekly infection growth rate is 2.68 down from Monday’s 2.69.
Among the cases reported on Tuesday, 3,934 are new Protocol 2 infections, comprising 18 imported cases and 3,916 local ones.
Another 2,062 cases were confirmed via PCR tests – 400 of them imported and 1,662 local infections.
