With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 58 senior officers and officers of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received their insignias in a ceremony at Berakas Garrison Officers Mess yesterday.
Commander of the RBAF Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat presented the insignias.
The newly promoted officers included two senior officers being elevated to the rank of Colonel and two officers promoted to the rank of acting Lieutenant Colonel.
Eleven officers were promoted to substantive Major/acting Lieutenant Commander (RBN); one promoted to acting Major; 35 promoted to substantive Captain/Lieutenant (RBN); five were promoted to the rank of acting Captain and two were special commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant / Lieutenant junior grade (RBN).
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, services commanders, deputy permanent secretaries, senior officers and officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as families of promoted officers were also present.
