50 per cent drop in COVID figures

Brunei Darussalam continues to see a drop in new daily COVID-19 cases, with the figures in the last week averaging at 685 per day. This translates to a 50 per cent decrease from the previous week.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof announced this at the weekly press conference yesterday.

A total of 613 new cases were reported yesterday. One Category 5 case is receiving treatment at the intensive care unit, while five cases in Category 4 are receiving respiratory assistance and under close observation. No COVID-19 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 75 per cent of citizens and residents in the Sultanate have received the third dose of the vaccination, while seven per cent have been administered the fourth dose.
