Brunei Darussalam today detected 42 new COVID- 19 cases, all locally transmitted cases, including the emergence of two new clusters. With the latest cases, the total confirmed cases in Brunei rises to 640.
The two new clusters reported today are the BSP HQ Cluster and IBTE KB Cluster.
In addition, 15 new cases were also recorded with the source of infection yet to be determined, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Md Isham bin Haji Jaafar said at a press conference.

He also added that of the latest infections, the majority are from the current active clusters.
“The Immigration Cluster has seven new cases, ABCi Cluster four cases, Champion 7 Cluster four cases, four cases for the 477 Cluster, three cases for Chung Hua KB Cluster, one case for TOTAL Cluster, one case for Semporna Enak Cluster and one case for Al-Falah-Freda Radin Cluster.”
In the two new clusters identified, the minister said said one new case (Case 624) is related to Case 432, Case 566 and Case 499. This cluster is now known as the BSP HQ Cluster.
One new cluster has been identified where one new case, Case 620, is related to Case 448 and Case 563. This cluster is now known as the IBTE KB Cluster.
Three cases who were treated at the National Isolation Centre have recovered bringing the total of recovered cases to 330.
Currently, a total of 307 active cases have been recorded in Brunei Darussalam. Among the active cases, two are in critical condition requiring respiratory assistance while two other cases are under close monitoring at the National Isolation Centre.
