    416 feted in graduation ceremony

    A total of 416 students of Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT) graduated in higher national diplomas (HNDs), diplomas in level 1 to 3 and certificates in information technology, business and creative media production during the college’s 14th convocation ceremony at the Indera Samudera Hall of The Empire Brunei yesterday.

    Minister of Culture Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin presented certificates to the students.

    CCCT Executive Chairman Dr Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Latip said that all graduates have performed well at their workplaces as part of the opportunities offered to apply their competencies.

    “We have provided the senior students with employment skills such as six sigma, project management, leadership and followership, knowing self and others, CV writing, interview skills, problem solving and decision making,” he said.

    He added that these skills position the students as assets to employers and the country.

    “Junior students develop entry-level employment skills, personal development and emotional intelligence,” he added.

    Dr Haji Abdul Aziz also thanked executives from a number of organisations who supported the initiative.

    He said over 26 companies conducted campus interviews last year with some students receiving job offers.

    The executive chairman, while hoping the other graduates would find employment, also advised them to consider entrepreneurship and seek employment abroad to expand their horizon through international exposure.

    The convocation ceremony saw 12 students graduating in BTEC HND Business; four in HND in Computing & System Development; 41 in BTEC HND in Computing; and five in BTEC HND in Creative Media Production.

    Meanwhile, nine students graduated in BTEC Level Introductory Diploma in Business; 14 students in BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Digital Media; 33 in BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Information Technology; 45 in BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Business; 37 in BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Creative Media; 92 in BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Information Technology; 39 in BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business; and 81 in BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Information Technology.

    Mohammad Aiman Zamani bin Azman, Mohammad Amiruddin Hanif bin Muslam and Muhammad Othmali Harlif Adie Firdaus bin Othman received awards for their academic excellence.

    Muhammad Loqmanulhaadi bin Fadzlan was awarded the Best Student Overall Performance.
