A total of 1,904, or 4.4 per cent of children in the Sultanate have received the first dose of the vaccination since the start of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme for children in the five-to-11 age group.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared this at the daily press conference. He added that on the first day of the vaccination centres opening during Ramadhan, 922 doses of vaccine were administered to children yesterday.

Meanwhile, 62 per cent of the populace received three doses of the vaccination as of yesterday.

Parents and guardians can book vaccination slots for their children via the BruHealth app, with the authentication process of their children’s accounts completed ahead of the vaccination.

However, completing the COVID-19 vaccination will not be a requirement for children to attend school, enter premises or participate in activities.

During the month of Ramadhan, vaccination centres operate from 8.30am to 1pm on Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays. The centres are closed on Fridays, Sundays and public holidays.
