THIRTY-SIX pints of blood was collected at the Butra HeidelbergCement (BHC) Sdn Bhd blood donation drive yesterday.
The drive was part of BHC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme ‘Building Lives’. It was carried out at the BHC headquarters in Serasa by a team of medical staff from the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre led by medical officer Dr Nang.
The blood donation drive was aimed at increasing the awareness on the importance of becoming a blood donor and its benefits.
Donors at the drive comprised BHC staff, representatives from neighbouring companies, government organisations as well as residents in the Serasa area.
BHC Marketing Officer Umillah binti Razak said, “Blood donation is a priceless gift, and we thank all the donors for their generosity. We believe that by coming together as a community for this important cause, we are making a difference in someone’s life, no matter how small.”
The blood donors were given blood pressure check and health consultations by the health officers. BHC provided food to the donors.
