346 participate in One Semester, One Khatam

Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) held its first cultivation of Al-Quran programme, One Semester, One Khatam, for students at the university’s Tarbiyah Hall on Monday.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was the guest of honour.

Some 346 students participated in the ceremony, which began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Asma Ul-Husna, the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour and the mass recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuha up to Surah An-Nas by participants.

It was followed by recitations of Takhtim and Tahlil led by Haji Nasrul Fakhri bin Haji Yahya while Doa Khatam was read by student Faizuddin bin Haji Murni.

The ceremony also saw the 100 days Tahlil recitation for Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim, led by Syariah Faculty Assistant Lecturer Azman bin Kasim.

The One Semester, One Khatam programme, coordinated by Core Knowledge Centre at KUPU SB, was held for 11 weeks from September to November 2020.

The programme served to provide skills to enhance the quality of participants’ Al-Quran recitation as well as strengthening the students’ syakhsiah in religious teaching.
