32 receive World Scout membership badges

Some 32 Rover Scout Crew 1102 of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s (UNISSA) new scout members were awarded with World Scout membership badges as well as Scout scarves and Rover Scout epaulets in a ceremony for the Vigil Honour recently on completing 15 weeks of training in scout leadership and skills.

Director of Centre for Promotion of Knowledge and Language of UNISSA Dr Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili was the guest of honour.

The Rover Scout is one of the most important world scout movements in the world since its establishment in 1918.

The World Scout membership badge is one of the badges or compulsory tests for new scout members. The test is in the (‘Policy, Organisation and Rules’ – POR of the Brunei Darussalam Scout Association.

Prior to the ceremony, UNISSA Rover Scout members under the supervision of Coordinator of UNISSA Rover Scouts Dr Muhammad Alif bin Haji Sismat delivered leadership and skills to new members for 15 weeks.

The course aimed to build skills for development of self-resilience and mental toughness for UNISSA’s Rover Scout Crew 1102.

Deputy Scout Chief Commissioner and Youth Programme Scout Commissioner Junaidi bin Haji Hussin; Scout Commissioner for Rover Scout Section Hajah Norrahmat binti Sidin; Scout Commissioner for Venture Scout Section Haji Burhanuddin bin Haji Mohd Daud; Acting Brunei-Muara District Scout Commissioner Haji Mohamad Paizzal bin Haji Piluk; Acting Tutong District Scout Commissioner ACP (Rtd) Haji Abdul Murad bin Haji Abdul Hadi; Temburong District Scout Commissioner Jurkarnain bin Husin; Brunei Darussalam Scout Association Tree Planting Project Manager Haji Othman bin Durani; and Executive Scout Officer and UNISSA Rover Scout Trainer Zainudin bin Haji Ishak were present at the Vigil Honour ceremony.
