TWENTY-THREE youth comprising members of National Youth Association, alumni of National Service Programme (PKBN) and students from various higher institutions departed to Tokyo, Japan yesterday, to participate in JENESYS 2018 Inbound Programme (Culture) Japanese Language Communication and Japanese Culture Exchange.
Acting Director of Youth and Sports at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Haji Zafri bin Haji Mohamed was present to bid them farewell. Secretary II at the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam Hiroki Akasaka was also present.
The eight-day programme will see the participants engaging in various activities including learning the culture and arts of Japan, attending workshops related with the theme of the programme, living at homestay and others.
The programme aims to create an understanding among the people of Japan and Asia-Pacific region and build friendship ties and cooperation for the future.
The programme also encourages an understanding on social, economic and cultural interests of ASEAN and Japan as well as discussing elements on peace and prosperity.
