Twenty-two registered real estate agents and employees under accredited practitioners completed the first and second parts of a short course recently.

A ceremony was held at Bertabur Hall, Ministry of Development (MoD) on Saturday where the participants received certificates.

Appreciation certificates were also presented to the facilitators, comprising accredited practitioners, officers from the MoD and Institute of Technical Education Brunei (IBTE) who shared their expertise with the participants. Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment ) at the MoD Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, in her capacity as the Chairperson for the Board of Values and Estate Agent (BoVEA), was the guest of honour.

Jointly organised by BoVEA and the IBTE with support from AVA Brunei Chapter, the short course was carried out for six days in April. It marked the second time it was conducted since its introduction in September 2022.

The course was open to registered practitioners, evaluators and real estate agents and employees of practitioner services who did not join the first short course last year. The course aimed to upgrade the capability and skills of the next generation of real estate agents.

Also present at the event were Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Law) at the MoD Aldila binti Haji Mohd Salleh and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Chin Wei Keh.

The MoD meanwhile urged the public to seek verification when an individuals claims to be a registered real estate agent by going through the list of registered practitioners in the country on the BoVEA website which is regularly updated.
