Twenty-one participants attended a futsal referee seminar organised by the Brunei Darussalam Referee Association with the cooperation of the Tutong District Amateur Football Association (TDAFA) at the Lanes Hotel in Pekan Tutong on Friday.
National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Referee Director Abdul Razak bin Anuar facilitated the course with local technical and fitness coaches.
The seminar, which concludes today, hopes to update local referees on the latest FIFA Laws of the Game, and to prepare them for upcoming futsal competitions.
The seminar will also ensure that referees and assessors have the same and consistent understanding when officiating matches as referee or assessor.
Participants will also be updated on the latest futsal trends, teams’ pattern of play and system.
Yesterday, they attended an Assistant Referee Intermittent Endurance Test (ARIET) fitness test as recommended by FIFA and a practical at the Arbisyam Futsal Court in Keriam, Pekan Tutong.
NFABD Executive Committee member Pengiran Haji Aliudin bin Pengiran Haji Tajudin was the guest-of-honour during the opening ceremony of the seminar.
TDAFA President Haji Takong bin Haji Ahmad, TDAFA Deputy President Bujang bin Japar and committee members of the association as well as the President of the Brunei Darussalam Referee Association Haji Hamidon bin Haji Md Zain were also present.
