Two killed, six injured in India chemical factory explosion

MUMBAI (XINHUA) – Two persons were killed and six others injured in an explosion at a chemical factory yesterday in Khopoli, 70km from Mumbai.

The injured people from the blast in a chemical reactor at around 2.30am have been shifted to a civic hospital, the police said. Intensity of the blast was so severe that it was felt in 2-3km radius from the site.

Eight fire tenders were deployed and they brought fire under control after four hours. An investigation was underway, the police said.
