ABA is a prestigious international-level event which recognises ASEAN enterprises and entrepreneurs which have reached outstanding achievements, sustained growth rates and have contributed to economic stability. The award also honours enterprises that have contributed to COVID-19 prevention throughout the region.

Vietnam hosted the ceremony for the second time with the first taking place in 2010. BRG Group Chairman Nguyen Thi Nga, who is a member of the ASEAN BAC Vietnam, chaired the award ceremonies on both occasions.

In 2020, ASEAN businesses and entrepreneurs have been frontline fighters. The business community helped the regional economy during the pandemic while ensuring jobs and business growth, Nga said.

The judges comprised representatives from all 10 ASEAN member countries as well as other partners such as GIZ from Germany and the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council.
