Student bodies welcome new members

Some 23 new members of the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Brunei Darussalam were named for the 2020/2021 term, and 36 members of the Shariah and Law (Shalaw) Students’ Society appointed during an event at the Auditorium of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).

It also commemorated the outgoing members of ALSA Brunei and Shalaw Students’ Society in a step-down ceremony. Newly elected President of ALSA Brunei Awangku Muhd Syair Aminy bin Pengiran Shahrel Annuar and new President of Shalaw Students’ Society Muhammad Hassanul Hadi Ikram bin Haji Dayang gave a speech upon their appointment, following the speeches by the former presidents Nor Amirah Aziyah binti Hasdy of ALSA Brunei and Muhammad Nurazam bin Muhammad Azlan of Shalaw Students’ Society.

Dean of Faculty of Shariah and Law (FSL) Dr Hajah Masnooraini binti Haji Mohiddin, the guest of honour, presented certificates of appointment and appreciation.

Deputy Dean of FSL Dr Hajah Hanan binti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz and FSL academics staff were also present.
