The use of PowerPoint in the Umrah Course (KIU) should ensure that the Department of Haj Management’s Haj and Umrah Guidance Division remains proactive in disseminating knowledge and guidance for intending pilgrims.

This was said by Acting Director of Haj Management at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman during a KIU PowerPoint handover ceremony to seven Haj and Umrah package service operators at the MoRA’s Multaqa Hall yesterday.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was the guest of honour. The standardisation of PowerPoint for Umrah operators intends to provide an effective teaching aid in the delivery of the KIU content and curriculum, as set by the Department of Haj Management.

Haji Ahmad Abdussalam added that it was also aimed at standardising rulings on certain religious issues, in accordance with the doctrine of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah adopted in Brunei Darussalam to avoid contradictions or confusion.

“I hope that these efforts will provide the public with knowledge of Umrah, so that they can perform it correctly and properly, to gain Maqbulah (accepted) Umrah,” he said.

The event continued with a video presentation of the KIU content, followed by a handover of the KIU PowerPoint to seven Haj and Umrah package service operators.
